The first Rocket was launched in 1997 by husband and wife team Mike and Linda. Rocket Ansa-Call was formed as an outsourced telephony service for small and expanding companies. By 2000, Rocket had grown organically to 4 offices throughout the UK, employing 75 people and strategically placed to ensure that a local professional team greets their customer's clientele.
The right technology
As an outsourced telephony service it has always been essential that the Rocket team have the ability to answer calls in the correct company name and manner, therefore a complete computer integrated phone system was required. This solution came to Rocket in the shape of the IP Office from Avaya (formally The Enterprise Networks Division of Lucent Technologies). Rocket also utilise sophisticated call flow and real time monitoring applications to ensure consistent quality of service. Fast internet connections, gigabyte ethernet, system integration and computer and IP telephony applications are supported in-house by a team of Microsoft Certified developers, Analysts and support technicians.
As Rocket Ansa-Call grew beyond the first Aldershot office, it became necessary to be able to support their equipment, to ensure effective maintenance could be carried out throughout the organisation. For this reason company directors undertook the relevant technical training to become fully accredited engineers. As officially recognised technicians they were able to maintain Rockets telecoms equipment, pushing the IP Office beyond recognised boundaries. The IP 412 used at Aldershot is probably the most worked system so far installed in the World. This level of working knowledge of the Avaya IP Office product is unsurpassed and a distinct advantage for customers who choose Rocket as their Avaya reseller.
